An explosion of flavour in a glass as British craft gin meets Italian bergamot – and coffee, of course – to create a magnificent summer cocktail.

Earlier this summer, we featured a delicious gin cocktail created by David Jameson, 2016 UK Coffee in Good Spirits champion and green buyer at Grumpy Mule. This delicious caffeinated tipple is named after his grandmother, who recently turned 95! The lavender gin pairs perfectly with the floral notes of the Ethiopian coffee – a delicious drink for warmer days.

Here’s the recipe!

50ml Mason’s Yorkshire Gin Lavender Edition
20ml Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto liqueur
15ml Mr Black Amaro coffee liqueur
25ml coffee (cold brew concentrate or espresso, ideally Ethiopian – we used Grumpy Mule Shakisso as espresso)
Juice of half a lime
150ml good-quality tonic water

Fill a large copa glass with ice, add all the spirits and coffee, and stir. Add the tonic, stir gently again and garnish with a slice of lime and a fresh British strawberry.
