The coffee festival calendar is getting more and more packed, and next up is Edinburgh’s third annual celebration of all things coffee-related. The Scottish capital is home to one of the UK’s top speciality coffee scenes – and on Saturday 14 October, it will host more than 40 coffee and tea exhibitors at the historic Corn Exchange, where 3,000 visiting coffee connoisseurs are expected. Caffeine lovers will be able to sample locally roasted coffee and street food while taking part in experiments, workshops while watching demonstrations and listening to speakers on a variety of topics, including how to set up a coffee shop, Chocolate and coffee pairing and how to do Latte Art.
The highlight for us is the Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) onsite Introduction to Coffee Module. The half day course is ideally suited to passionate enthusiasts or those considering a career in coffee. Places are limited to 60 coffee lovers, the course is currently discounted to £60 (normally £150) and includes a ticket to the Edinburgh Coffee Festival.
Vegware and Frank Green will help the festival to be a zero-waste event. Ben Young, Founder and CEO of Frank Green explains “The contribution to landfill and the pollution of our oceans is something OUR generation has been responsible for and we just can’t keep ignoring it. Recycling alone is not the answer – we have to stop creating the waste in the first place.”
Tickets start at £10. For more information, visit edinburghcoffeefestival.co.uk.
